'Deano', as he will be fondly remembered on the City terraces, scored a total of 77 goals for the Tigers over three seperate spells at the club. Often the target of abuse from opposition supporters, Windass was a cheeky yet clever forward and it was he who scored the winning goal of the 2008 play-off final, sending Hull City into the Premiership for the first time in their history.
